judicial review | 3 principles: The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. When there is a conflict between the Constitution and any other law, the Constitution must be followed. The judicial branch has a duty to uphold the constitution and fix (resolve) conflicts. |

War Hawks | group of young Republicans elected to Congress in 1810 who pressured the president to declare war against Britain and were eager to expand the nation’s power |
nationalism | loyalty to one’s country |
