What president was Ulysses S. Grant? The eighteenth
What president was Abraham Lincoln? The seventeenth
What was an important event that Abraham Lincoln was president for? The Civil War
Who was Jefferson Davis? The President of the Confederate states.
Why was the famous speech "Gettysburg Adress" given to the union? To commemorate the soliders that had died at battle.
What was something that both President Lincoln, and President Jackson wanted? To uphold the federal government.
What did the fugitive slave act allow? It allowed runaway slaves to be captured and returned to the South and slavery.
What was mostly in the North during the Civil war? Factories
What was mostly in the South during the Civil war? Agriculture (Farming)
What was the purpose of the 13th amendment? To abolish slavery
What was the purpose of the 14th amendment? Gave civil rights, and citizanship
What was the purpose of the 15th amendment? Gave everyone voting rights
What was seen mostly in the North, other than factories? Railroads, roads, seaports, and had a small navy
What was seen mostly in the South, other than Farming? Few railroads, roads, and had a large navy.
What was the effect of the Dred Scott case? Allowed slavery into territories.
How did the North feel about the result of the Dred Scott case? It angered them.
What did an abolitionist believe? To abloish slavery completely.
Who were some abolitionists? John Brown, Harriet Tubman,and Harriet Beecher Stowe
What was Uncle Tom's Cabin? A book to show her belifs on slavery.
