Where did most Immigrants come from after 1910? They came from Southern Europe.
In 1882 what kind of law was passed? Congress passed a law that stopped Chinese immigration.
In 1917 what kind of law was passed? Congress passed a law that voted immigrants to pass a reading test.
What language did earlier immigrants speak? Earlier immigrants mostly spoke english.
If you had realtives in the U.S. what did they offer to do? THey offered to help find houses and jobs.
What did many immigrants suffer from? Many immigrants suffered from racism.
What were some Japanese not aloud to do? They were not aloud to own property.
What is one result to the immigration laws? One law is that immigration in the U.S. slowed down.
What two things did most immigrants bring with them? Most immigrants brought valubles and a small amount of money.
What are two difficulties that some immigrants faced? Some immigrants were unskilled and could not speak English.
Why did most immigrants come to the U.S.? Most immigrants came because of economic and politicle problems.
What did some people do if they had relatives in the U.S.? Some relatives sent home money for boat trips.
Where did earlier immigrants settle? earlier immigrants settled in farms and cities.
