What does the term embargo mean? A ban on trades with another country.
What was the Embargo Act of 1807? Didn't allow Americans to import or export goods to or from other countries.
Who suffered most from the Embargo act and why? The Americans because we couldn't make any money selling our goods.
What was the Nonintercourse Act? Americans could trade with everyone except from France and Britain.
What does the term impressment mean? Taking American sailors and making them work on British ships.
