Jim Crow Laws Laws Southern states used to segregate African American's from whites.
13th Amendment Ended Slavery
14th Amendment If you were born in the US you are an American citizen. If you are an American Citizen, you are guarenteed all the rights in the Constitution.
15th Amendment The Right to vote for all male citizens
Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court case that proclaimed separate IS equal.
Lincoln's Reconstruction Plan Included a 10% plan, thought that reconstruction was the Presidents responsibililty, did not make states guarentee the 14th & 15th amendments
Johnson's Reconstruction Plan allowed states to determine what rights were given to the Freedmen, was the most lenient plan for states to re-enter the union, thought reconstruction was the responsibility of the President.
Radical Repulbican's Reconstruction Plan The most strict plan for the states to re-enter the union, insisted the states guarentee the 13th, 14th, & 15th amendments, thought that Congress should be incharge of reconstruction.
Carpetbaggers A durogatory nick name for Souther Republican who moved to South to help out with rebuilding the South.
Share-croppers people who worked part of the land on a plantation in exchange for housing and a portion of the crop.
Scalawags A derogatory nick name for Southern Republicans
