What happened to Jean Ribault after the settlement that he built failed? He went back to France for supplies and was never able to return to the New World.

What was Jean Pardo looking for in the new world? He came in search of gold and silver, to meet native americans to trade, and to find out more about the land.

Where in SC did Juan Pardo explore? He landed at Charlesfort and they burned down the fort. They claimed the land for Spain and built Santa Elena. Afterwards they visited Cofitachequil and traveled inland through SC.
Why did Spain send Pardo to the New World? To develop a friendship with the Native Americans so they can begin trading.
