| What were the results of the Quakers' beliefs? | The Quakers did not need ministers to be able to communicate w/ God, they were amongst the first to speak out against slavery, and woman were equal to men in spiritual matters, often leading Quaker meetings. They suffered from persecution, however |
| Why were the Quakers persecuted? | The Quakers did not pay taxes to support the Church of England |
| Who was William Penn? | Wealth man who knew King Charles II personally, and who wished to stop the persecution of the Quakers |
