Bacterial Organelles
This tells about the basic organelles of a basic eubacteria
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| How many organelles are in a basic eubacteria? | There is eight in total out of what i know: The pili and fimbrae, capsule, cell wall, cell membrane, a flagellum (or more), ribsomes, cytoplasm, and a nucleoid. |
| What is the purpose of the cell wall, membrane and capsule? | Those all are an outer wall used to keep the inside organelles in, and enemies or dangerous things out of the cell. |
| What is a flagellum? | Flagelle are thin, strong, microscopic fin-like tails; they enable the bacteria move. |
| What is a ribsome? | Ribsomes are tiny, grain-like organelles that create proteins. Cells need protien to survive. |
| What are pili and fimbrae? | Pili and fimbrae are like little 'feelers' and they are also 'bridges' used to transfer genetic material. |
| What is cytoplasm? | Cytoplasm is a jelly-like fluid made of mostly water and special materials. |
| What is a nucleoid? | The nucleoid is the control center of a bacterial cell; it is not enclosed with a membrane, instead, the DNA clumps together in a central area of the cell. |
