Features of the first movement. E+, Allegro, 4/4 meter, ritornello form.
Features of the second movement. C#-, Largo, 3/4 meter, reduced orchestration.
Features of the third movement(Danza Pastorale). E+, Allegro, 12/8 meter, ritornello form, drone in bass.
Performing forces. Solo violin, string orchestra,(1st violins, 2nd violins,violas, cellos), harpsichord(basso continuo).
Uses of word painting. Ritornello suggests spring, birdlike trills, lightning and thunder by repeated notes and fast rising scales, the barking dog in violas.
