Genres in the Baroque period. Solo concerto, keyboard work, opera, oratorio, concerto grosso, mass, suite, cantata, chamber music.
Elements of the Baroque period. Figured bass, improvisation, terraced dynamics, Doctrine of the Affections, polyphonic texture.
Composers to know. J.S. Bach, Handel.
Works to know. Le quattro stagioni(La primavera), Prelude and fugue in C minor, Messiah.
