Notes on Columbian E

QuestionAnswer
Columbian Exchange is the exchange of plants and animals between America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Called Columbian Exchange because the exhange began with Columbia’s explorations.
The Columbian Exchange dramatically changed the world.
European Explores took back with them corn, potatoes, tobacco and cocoa.
The European Explores introduced to the Native Americans horses, cattle and pigs. They also started farm European grains such as wheat and barley.
The European Explores also introduced deadly diseases to which the Native Americans had no resistance to. Thy often got sick and died.
Over time trading patterns developed. They exchanged raw materials, manufactured products and slaves.
Items that were brought to America; Cocoa, Corn, Potatoes, Squash, Tobacco, Turkeys.
Items brought from Europe; Cattle, Citrus Fruits, Diseases, Grains, Horses, Sugarcane.
