The POTUS makes up the Executive Branch of government
The POTUS has the power to Veto laws passed by the two houses of Congress.
Veto means The legislation is killed.
The POTUS is elected for 4 years
The POTUS is elected when he/she accumulates 270 electoral votes
Congress has the power to overturn a presidential veto with a 2/3 majority vote
The Supreme court makes up the what branches of the court Executive, Legislative and Judicial
What does the Supreme court determines If laws are constitutional
The US Supreme Court is made up of how many members 9 members
Supreme Court Justices are nominated by whom? The POTUS
The Supreme Court Justice is approved by US Senate (need 51 members to approve)
How long can a supreme court justice serve? For life or until they die
Limiting the power of the three branches of government is referred to Checks and balances
What does freedom of Religion means? To practice any religion you want or no religion at all.
The government shall make no laws governing the "fredom of religion AKA Separation of Church and State
Who is the State? US Citizens
The government shall not tax Religion
The government shall not require a religion to be mandatory such as requiring students to recite the Lord's pray in public school
What does "freedom of spech mean? Fell free to say truth or opinion without legal consequence.
Slander means to defame by speaking a lie
Libel means to defame by writing a lie
Defame or defermation means to injure someone with slander and/or lie
Liable means legally responsible
What does freedom of the press mean? The government shall make no laws prohibiting the rights of the press to investigate stories.
What does "peaceably assemble mean? To exert influence by gathering in numbers, for a change in government.
What does "petition the Government for a redress of grievances mean" Gather enough signitures to place a law on the ballot.
What does "Keep and bear Arms" mean? The right to own and possess a gun (s)
