| Natural Resources | Materials or substances that occur naturally in the environment, like water, minerals, trees, and fossil fuels, which people can use. |
| Persecution | The unfair and harsh treatment of people because of their race, beliefs, or other characteristics. |
| Physical Features | Natural characteristics of the Earth’s surface, such as mountains, rivers, lakes, and oceans. |
| Population | Total number of people living in a particular area. |
| Port | A place where ships can dock to load and unload goods or passengers, usually located along a coast or river. |
| Predecessor | Someone or something that came before another person or thing in a job, position, or role. |
| Prehistoric | Refers to the time before written records were kept. |
| Prejudice | A judgment made about people based on their race, religion, or other characteristics without knowing them. |
| Profit | The extra value a person or group earns after trading or selling something for more than it cost to make or gather. |
| Race | Refers to groups of people who share similar physical traits, such as skin color, and often have a common cultural background. |
| Reform | Make changes to something in order to improve it, like reforming a law to make it more fair. |
| Region | A large area of land that has common features, such as climate, culture, or geography, like the Midwest region of the USA. |
| Rural | Areas that are in the countryside, often characterized by farming and small towns, as opposed to cities. |
