artifact usually a simple object as a toll or ornament showing human work, and representing a culture, or a stage, in the development of a culture.
archaeologist a scientist who studies human history by digging up human remains and artifacts
B.C.E Before the Common Era/Before the birth of Christ
Çatalhöyük Neolithic site in present day Turkey
C.E Common Era
domestication the taming & training of plants and animals to be useful to humans
excavate to carefully dig up (archaeologists will excavate historical sites to find bones, artifacts, ruins, etc.)
fossil remains, impression, or trace of a living thing of a former geologic age, such as a skeleton or a footprint
historian people who study and write about the past
hunter-gatherer humans that hunt wild animals, or gather edible plants as a way to feed themselves
migration movement from one country, place, or locality to another
Neolithic Age later part of the Stone Age when people used ground or polished stone weapons and implements (agriculture began during this time)
