Location A specific place on the Earth
Place the physical and human characteristics of a location
Region An area with common/shared characteristics
Movement Shifting of people, goods, and ideas from one place to the other
Human-Environment Interaction How people affect their environment and how their environment affects them.
Topography Physical terrain
Natural Resource Parts of nature used by human
Climate The average weather conditions in an area over a long period of time
Civilization A culture that has developed systems of specialization, religion, learning, written language, art, sciences and government
Colony An area of land controlled by another, usually distant, country.
Ethnic Group Group of people who share common ancestry, language, religion, customs, or combination of such characteristics.
Settlement A place where people make a new permanent home.
Economic The SYSTEM in a country that involves making, buying, and selling goods.
Governor The leader of a colony or state
Migration Movement of people from one place to another.
Historical Research Using a variety of sources to answer a question about an event or time period.
Artifacts Objects made by humans
Oral History A recording containing information about the past obtained from in-depth interviews concerning personal experiences, recollections, and reflections.
Primary Source An original document containing the observations, ideas, and conclusions of an individual. It is a firsthand account presented by someone present or actively participating in the event.
Secondary Sources Information consist of descriptions and explanations that are created after a historical event has already taken place, sometimes using a primary source to do so.
Community A group of people who live in the same area under the same government.
Culture Beliefs, customs, and traditions of a specific group of people.
Demographics Data and numbers relating to the population and particular groups within it.
Bias A particular preference or point of view that is personal and usually unfair
