Defining patriotism and how communities express patriotism.

TermDefinition
Patriotism A love, devotion, and loyalty to one’s country.
Symbol An image, object, person, or animal that represents something else.
American Flag A national symbol of the United States. It represents the country's core ideals—freedom, justice, and democracy.
Pledge of Allegiance A promise of loyalty to the United States and the American flag.
National Anthem A country’s special official song to show love and pride for its country. People sing or listen to it together at special events.
National Belonging to or affecting the whole country.
Loyalty Being a caring, helpful, and proud member of your community.
Country A big area of land where people live together under the same government and follow the same laws.
