| Labor union | An organized association of workers formed to protect and further their rights and interests |
| Stock market | A market where shares of publicly held companies are issued and traded |
| Dust Bowl | A period of severe dust storms that greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the American prairies in the 1930s |
| Labor organizing | The process of forming a union to advocate for better working conditions |
| Depression (Economic) | A sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity |
| Recession | A temporary decline in economic activity, generally lasting two consecutive quarters |
