| Self-awareness | Understanding one's own emotions, strengths, limitations, and values |
| Empathy | The ability to understand and share the feelings of another |
| Perspective | A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view |
| Soapbox | A box used as a platform for spontaneous speeches; a metaphor for expressing opinions |
| Issue | An important topic or problem for debate or discussion |
| Historian | An expert in or student of history |
| Master Narrative | A traditional, dominant, or "official" story that explains history from the perspective of the winners or majority |
| Counter-narrative | Stories or perspectives that challenge the dominant "master narrative" |
| Identity | The qualities, beliefs, and expressions that make a person or group |
| Freedom | The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants |
| Liberty | The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions |
| Equality | The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities |
| Revolutionary | Involving or causing a complete or dramatic change; engaging in political revolution |
| Declaration of Independence | The 1776 document announcing the American colonies' separation from Britain |
| Constitution | The supreme law of the United States, outlining the structure of the federal government |
| Gettysburg Address | Lincoln's 1863 speech redefining the Civil War as a struggle for equality and freedom |
| Reconstruction Amendments | The 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, which abolished slavery and granted civil rights |
| Bill of Rights | The first ten amendments to the Constitution, guaranteeing individual liberties |
