i will learn about Islam and a place called Mecca which is a sacred place

what are sand dunes? hills of sand shaped by the wind.
what is and oasis? a wet, fertile area in a desert.
what is a mosque? a building where muslim prays
what does sedentary mean? to settle
what is a caravan? a group of traders that travel together.
what is a souk (SOOK)? a market or bazaar.
what is Islam? the messsage Muhammad recieved form the basis.
the Qur'an is...... the holy book of Islam.
1. a shrine is...... 1. a place where people worship a saint or god
the sunnad is...... refers to the way Muhammed lived, which provides a model for duties and the way of life expected of muslims.
what is a pilgrimage? a journey to a sacred place.
five pillars of Islam is..... five acts of worship required by all Muslims.
what year did islam begin? 610 AD, an angel appears and tells muhammad to spread the word of god
who is the God of Islam? Allah
when did Muhammad die? 623 AD
what is the 1st pillar of islam? Saying "there is no god but god, and Muhammad is his prophet"
2nd pillar? pray 5 times a day
what is the 3rd pillar? give to poor and needy
what is the 4th pillar? fasting during Ramadan
the 5th pillar.... traveling to mecca once in a life on a hajj
