QuestionAnswer
What is a sum? The answer when you add.
What is a difference? The answer when you subtract.
What is a product? The answer when you multiply.
What is a quotient? The answer when you divide.
What does equivalent mean? equal
What is expanded form? The number is broken into its place values. (Ex.- 357= 300+50+7)
What is select all? There is more than one correct answer.
What is a composite number? A whole number that has more than one factor pair.
What is a prime number? A whole number that has only one factor pair.
What is a remainder? The amount left over after dividing.
What is a factor? A number that divides another number evenly (no remainder).
What is a denominator? The bottom number of a fraction that tells how many equal-sized parts are in a whole.
What is a numerator? The top number of a fraction that tells how many of the equal parts are being used.
What is a mixed number? A number with a whole-number part and a fraction.
What is a multiple? The numbers when you multiply a number and a whole number.
What is an acute angle? less than 90 degrees
What is an obtuse angle? 91-179 degrees
What is a straight angle? 180 degrees
What is reflex angle? 181-359 degrees
What is a right angle? 90 degrees (The corner of a piece of paper will fit RIGHT in it.)
What is mode? The number you see the most in a data set.
What is median? The middle number after you put the numbers in a data set in order from lowest to highest.
What is range? The answer when you subtract the lowest number from the highest number in a data set.
What is perimeter (periRIMeter)? The answer when you add up the sides of a geometric figure such as a rectangle.
What is area? The answer when you multiply the length and width of a rectangle. The answer is in square units.
