Canada's Government

government a system of rules (laws) and the people that have the power to make
Citizen a person who is a member of a nation or political community and has all of the rights and responsibilities that go with that
Autocracy a form of government where all of the power is placed in one leader's hands
Democracy a form of government where the people being governed hold all of the power
Executive Branch the branch or arm of government that enforces the laws and includes the leaders such as presidents and prime ministers
Presidential Democracy a form of government where a president (the country's leader) is elected by the citizens of the country
Legislative Branch the part of a government that writes or creates the laws of a country or state: a parliament is a type of legislative branch; in the US
Parliament a name given to a group of people who make or write the laws for a nation (in this case
Parliamentary Democracy a form of government where the laws and main decisions of a country are made by a parliament (the group of people elected by the citizens)
Presidential Government a form of government where a president or leader acts as the decision maker of an executive branch separate from a legislative branch
Democratic Republic a form of government where the citizens vote for the people who make the laws and also vote for the leader of the country
Commonwealth of Nations(British Commonwealth) a voluntary association of 56 independent and equal countries
