what was dred scott's story? dred scott's slaveowner took him to a free state, and when they got back, the slaveowner died and dred ordered that he was a free man because he lived in a free state.
what was the decision of dred scott v. stanford? it was a 7-2 decision against scott. they said that he does not have the rights as a person so therefore he is not free.
