Who was the first president? George Washington.
When was George Washington selected for presidency? On April 6, 1789, Congress declared that the electoral college had Washington unanimously(John Adams VP).
Electoral College? Group selected by each of the states to cast votes in presidential elections.
Precedent? An action or decision that serves as an example for ;after generations.
Judiciary Act 1789? Set up a federal court system with three levels.
National Debt? Amount of money owed by the U.S to its lenders.
Bonds? Certificates that represent money owed.
Speculators? People who buy items at low prices in the hopes that the values will rise.
Assumption? Hamilton wanted the federal government to pay off the states debt because it would increase support for the federal government.
