Economics Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Economics The study of how people use resources to satisfy their wants.
Opportunity Cost The value of the next best alternative given up when a choice is made.
Production The process of creating goods and services.
Resources Limited items used to satisfy wants and needs.
Scarcity The condition of limited resources and unlimited wants.
Wants Desires that people have, which are unlimited.
Needs Basic requirements for survival.
Trade The exchange of goods or services.
Market A place where buyers and sellers interact.
Economy The system in which resources are used to produce and distribute goods and services.
