bill of rights

1st amendment Freedom of religion, speech,assembly & petition. (5 basic liberties)
7th amendment Right to trial by jury.
3rd amendment Citizens do not have to allow soldiers to live in their homes.
2nd amendment The right to bear arms. (own weapons)
4th amendment Protests people from unreasonable searches & seizures. (taking of property)
6th amendment The right of a fair & speedy trial.
5th amendment Protects people from being tried for the same crime twice (double jeopardy) & protects you from self-incrimination.
10th amendment Powers not granted to the federal government belong to the states & people
9th amendment Not all rights are listed in the Constitution.
8th amendment Protects people from unreasonable fines, cruel & unusual punishments.
