Mongol Empire

Genghis Khan The founder and first ruler of the Mongol Empire
Mongol Empire A vast empire created by Genghis Khan that stretched from East Asia to Europe and became the largest empire of its time
Temujin The birth name of Genghis Khan before he became ruler of the Mongols
Nomadic A way of life in which people move from place to place instead of living in one permanent location
Tribe A group of people connected by family ties
Alliance An agreement between groups or tribes to support one another
Kuriltai A meeting of Mongolian tribal leaders where important decisions were made
Universal Ruler The meaning of the title “Genghis Khan
Military Tactician A person skilled at planning and carrying out strategies during battles or wars
Spy Network A system of people who secretly gather information to help a leader plan attacks or make decisions
Conquest The act of taking control of land or people through military force
Pax Mongolica A period of peace and stability across the Mongol Empire that allowed trade and travel to increase
Succession The process of choosing the next leader after a ruler dies
