Different industry sectors defined
| Term | Definition |

| Primary Industry | industries which extract raw materials directly from the earth or sea (e.g. farming and fishing) |
| Secondary Industry | industries which process and manufacture products from raw materials (e.g. factory workers and builders) example - sugar beet factory |
| Tertiary Industry | industries which provide a service (e.g. doctors and shop assistants, hotel receptionist, photographer) |
| Quaternary | industries which include a high degree of research and technology in their processes and employ highly qualified people (Engineers and scientists) |
| Industry | An industry is a group of organisations or businesses that make or sell similar products or perform similar services. |
| Employment | Paid work |
| Economy | A system of making and spending money which sustains a country or region, a sign of how well that system is functioning or how financially successful the country is |
