What does bicameral mean? Having a legislature with two chambers or houses.
What does unicameral mean? Having a legislature with only one chamber or house.
What is democracy? A government where citizens have the power to make decisions through voting.
Who is a chancellor? The head of government in some parliamentary democracies, like Germany.
What is the role of the head of state? The official or ceremonial leader representing the country.
What defines a dictatorship? One leader has total control and ignores constitutions and laws.
How can citizens participate in a democracy? By voting for leaders and running for political office.
What type of government does Germany have? Germany has a parliamentary democracy where citizens elect members of parliament.
Who chooses the German chancellor? The political party with the most members in parliament selects the chancellor.
What is the role of the chancellor in Germany? The chancellor is the head of government and runs the country’s day-to-day affairs.
What freedoms do German citizens have? Freedom of religion, equal rights, legal protection, and the right to participate politically.
What is the structure of the German parliament? Germany's parliament is bicameral, consisting of two chambers that make and approve laws.
What type of government does the UK have? The UK has a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarch and a prime minister.
Who is the head of government in the UK? The prime minister is the head of government and runs day-to-day operations.
What is the role of the monarch in the UK? The monarch has very limited power and mostly performs ceremonial duties.
How is the UK parliament structured? The UK parliament is bicameral, consisting of two houses that must approve laws.
How do citizens participate in the UK government? Citizens 18 or older vote to elect members of parliament who represent them.
What type of government does Russia have? Russia has a presidential democracy with a strong president and a bicameral legislature.
How is the Russian president chosen? The president is directly elected by the citizens.
What powers does the Russian president have? The president has more power than in many other democracies and leads the executive branch.
How is Russia’s legislature structured? Russia’s legislature is bicameral, with two chambers called the Federal Council and the State Duma.
What rights are guaranteed by the Russian constitution? Rights include life, dignity, freedom of speech, and privacy, though some freedoms are limited in practice.
