| Compromise | an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making |
| Federalism | a principle or system of government in which several states form a unity but remain independent in internal affairs. |
| Legislative Branch | the part of a government that makes laws, with the U.S. legislative branch being known as Congress |
| Executive Branch | the part of government responsible for enforcing and administering the laws passed by the legislature |
