| Proportional | When two things are the same in size. |
| Compromise | When two sides agree to meet in the middle and make a decision that can benefit both sides. |
| Federalism | When several parties form a union while also staying independent. |
| Legislative Branch | The part of the government that makes laws. |
| Executive branch | The branch that carries out federal laws. |
| Electoral college | The selection of electors. |
| Judicial Branch | The supreme court. |
| Checks and balances | The three branches have different but equal amounts of power. |
