Vocabulary words based off of our history class.

| Bicameral | A government system with two separate houses. |
| Republic | A state where it is controlled by a nominated/ elected president. |
| Ordinance | A law passed based on local concern |
| Depreciate | A value in something declining or lowering overtime |
| Depression | A decline in a country's economy |
| Manumission | Release from slavery |
| Proportional | A corresponding size or amount to something else |
| Compromise | An agreement/settlement |
| Federalism | A system of where a government remains independent |
| Legislative Branch | Responsible for making laws |
| Executive Branch | A government responsible for enforcing laws |
| Electoral College | The process for electing the vice president of the U.S |
| Judicial Branch | Responsible for interpreting the law |
| Check and Balances | a system where power is divided among different parts of the government so no single part gets too strong |
| Amendment | a change or addition to a law, like a new rule that makes a legislation better |
