What is an playwright and what does the playwright do? A playwright writes scripts for a show. Basically the scripter
What is an actor? An actor is a person participating in a movie/show that uses Articulation, Projection, and Exaggeration.
What is the #1 reason that causes stage fright? Not being prepared.
What is the best way to be a critic? Be honest about the show/movie you watch -- Admit to things you didn't enjoy and tell the director how to improve.
What is the best way to practice articulation? tongue twisters!
What is step 1 of the 5 steps of creating speech? The diaphragm contracts down (gets smaller), allowing the lungs to fill with air
What is step 2 of the 5 steps to create speech? The air travels down through the trachea and over the vocal cords
What is step 3 of the 5 steps to create speech? The vocal folds vibrate to create sound
This part of the body is also known as "the windpipe" which is the tube that connects your larynx to your lungs. (CANNOT BREATHE WITHOUT IT!!) trachea
What is step 4 of the 5 steps to create speech? the sound "bounces around" in the vocal resonators to create a richer and fuller sound.

What is step 5 of the 5 steps to create speech? The sound finally goes through the articulators to be turned into clear speech.

What is sound? a large vibration that travels through the air. It also bounces around things in the area.
Almost everything in the Theatre room absorbs (takes in or soaks up) sound waves in this room. What does NOT? the brick walls
Think fast ! What is RESONANCE?? A deep, full quality of sound

Bella has a sore throat. She talks a lot to her mom about drama and she drinks 6 - 8 glasses of warm water. Her sore throat didn't heal until a week later. What should she have done differently? She shouldn't have spoke a lot to her mother and instead be completely silent.
Daniella has a performance in Chorus on Saturday. She ate ice cream, didn't warmup, and practiced multiple times the day before. When she was on (she had a solo,) she had multiple voice cracks. What should she have done differently? She should have not ate ice cream, warmup, and save her voice for the next day, which she could practice/warmup right before the concert.
