TermDefinition
Spatial refers to the Earth's features in terms of their location, shapes, and relationships.
Biology the study of how things live/get along around you.
History the study of how god connects things of this world.
Geography the study of God's earth and its people, places and environments.
Bible The word of God is all around you.
Location where somewhere is found on Earth.
Place how features are defined.
What is in this world? 2 characteristics- physical (God made), human (human made)
Region places that share common characteristics.
Human-Environment Interaction how humans and their surroundings effect each other.
Movement how people, products, ideas and information moves from one place to another.
Relative Location compared/around ( I live "near" the Cass River.)
Absolute Location exactly somewhere ( I live at 942 Eastgate Ct.)
Latitude runs east to west, (mesures North to South.) Equator divides N/S
Longitude runs north to south, (mesures East to West.) Prime Meridian divides E/W
Hemisphere divides the world in half, (Western and Eastern.)
Map Projections trying to distort round Earth onto flat map.
Robinson (rounded), first weird projection.
Mercator (flat), second weird projection.
Map Scale size of area/distance
General Purpose first type of map, Political and Physical
Thematrics second type of map
Political map boundaries and locations
Physical map mountains
Technology ways discoveries are applied to practical use
