TermDefinition
government a group of people who are elected to make laws and govern (run) a community, state, or country
democracy a type of government that is run by the people
legislative branch makes our laws (also known as Congress)
bicameral Congress is bicameral because it has 2 parts (Senate and House of Representatives)
executive branch enforces our laws
judicial branch interprets the laws to make sure they are fair
census an official count of the population
Supreme Court the head of the judicial branch of our government
bill a proposed law

amendments official changes to the Constitution
