| Mountains | a large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level; a large steep hill. |
| Hills | a naturally raised area of land, not as high or craggy as a mountain. |
| River | a large natural stream of water flowing in a channel to the sea, a lake, or another such stream. |
| Desert | a dry, barren area of land, especially one covered with sand, that is characteristically desolate, waterless, and without vegetation. |
| Cataract | a large waterfall. |
| Sea | the expanse of salt water that covers most of the earth's surface and surrounds its landmasses. |
| Gulf | A deep inlet of the sea almost surrounded by land, with a narrow mouth. |
| Oasis | a fertile spot in a desert, where water is found. |
| Delta | a triangular tract of sediment deposited at the mouth of a river, typically where it diverges into several outlets. |
| Valley | a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it. |
