Intolerable Acts Prevented Massachusetts from governing itself, the Massachusetts Assembly would not be electives elected by the community but ruling officials appointed by the king.
Isolate to separate someone from the community or group.
First Continental Congress, This was a meeting between colonies to discuss how to repeal the Intolerable Acts.
Delegates Minutemen These were militias specially trained to be ready to fight without warning.
John Hancock He was a leading figure in the protests and a member of the First Continental Congress.
Paul Revere He was a silver blacksmith that had taken part in the Boston Tea Party, he also had made a plan to warn the Massachusett militias.
Battle of Lexington and Concord This fight is considered to be the first of the American Revolution. In this battle 73 of the British died and 200 were wounded or missing, and for the Americans 49 were killed and 39 were missing or wounded.
Patriot These were colonists that supported the right of the colonies to rule themselves.
Loyalist These were colonists that supported Britain and increasingly found themselves an uncomfortable minority.
