Possible verb usage on test
| Term | Definition |

| Action Verb | Describes action done by the subject. Example: The car drove fast. |
| Transitive Verb | It needs a direct object to complete. Example: He ate the cake. |
| Intransitive Verb | Does not need a direct object. Example: The rabbit jumped. |
| Linking Verb | Connects subject and subject complement, describes state of being. Example: The pasta is tasty. |
| Helping Verb | It helps main verb in a sentence. Example: She has completed her tasks. |
| Modal Verb | It shows possibility, necessity, or condition. Example: You can ace it if you try. |
| Stative verb | It show a state or condition. Example: She knows her secret. |
| Phrasal Verb | Consists of a main verb combined with one or more particles. Example: They looked up the concerns. |
| Regular Verb | Follows a regular conjugation pattern. Example: He always writes to Peter. |
| Irregular Verb | Does not follow the standard pattern. Example: She went to the market. |
| The Gerunds and Infinitives | A verb form that functions as a noun is called a gerund. She is learning physiology. |
| Dynamic Verb | Describes actions or processes. Example: The river flows smoothly. |
| Reflexive Verbs | Reflect the action back onto the subject. Example: She hurt herself while playing. |
