| Nazi | a member of the National Socialist German Workers' party, which controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945 under Adolf Hitler. |
| internment camps | places set up during war to keep people who might be a threat to the safety of the country |
| atomic bomb | a very powerful bomb that gets its power from nuclear fission, or the splitting of the nuclei of atoms from elements like plutonium or uranium. They case damage through heat, blast, and radiation. |
| concentration camp | Nazi prisons where millions of people were killed |
| racism | the belief that one's own group is the best and the hatred of people who belong to a different group |
| nationalism | pride in ones own country |
| dictator | a ruler with total power |
| alliance | an agreement between people, groups, or nations to work together toward a common goal |
