Emancipate To set (a child) free from the authority of its father or parents.
Ratify Sign or give formal consent to (a treaty, contract, or agreement), making it officially valid.
Habeas corpus A judicial order forcing law enforcement authorities to produce a prisoner they are holding.
Draft A select (a person or group of people) and bring them somewhere for a certain purpose.
