incident Event or occurrence - specific happening
nostalgic Longing for past - sentimental for earlier times
obsolete No longer used - outdated completely
ominous Suggesting future evil - threateningly inauspicious
portent Sign of future event - prophetic indication
precedent Earlier event establishing pattern - prior example
temp (root) Time - indicates temporal aspects. Examples: temporary, contemporary, tempo, tempest
