World War II 1900-1950 (follows the Gr Depression, ends in '45)
French and Indian War 1750-1800(paying for this war between FR and BR greatly upset the colonies. G.Washington was a young general.)
Gulf War 1950-2000 What seemed like a quick little war. Pres. Bush, Sr was pres.
The American Revolution 1775-1782 Tiny little America vs. the largest empire in the world. Led by General Washington.
Spanish-American War 1898, not to be confused with the Mexican-American war, the US was upset with Spanish rule in Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Phillippines.
Vietnam War 1955-1975 The longest war the US fought and the only war they lost. HIPPIES.
The War of 1812 1812-1815 Many US citizens saw it is a "second war of independence", it also gave Canada a strengthened feeling of national unity.
Mexican-American War 1846-1848 A dispute over Texas.
World War I 1914-1918 The war to end all wars, trench warfare and heavy casualties.
The Civil War 1861-1865, The War Between the States, Union vs Confederacy, North vs South.
Korean War 1950-1953 A war against Communism in Korea with the North and South being supported by the USA and the Soviet Union respectively.
Operation Enduring Freedom-The War in Afghanistan 2001-Present A war on terrorism, The Taliban, and al-Qaeda
The Iraq War 2003-Present War based on the fear of weapons of mass destruction, combat troops have been pulled out, 50,000 non-combat troops remain to advise and assist.
