What are the two main causes of the civil War? State's rights and Slavery.
What is disenfranchisement? Deprived the right to vote.
Who are the members of the bourbon Triumvirate? Joseph E. Brown, Alfred H. Colquitt, and John B. Gordon.
What was the bourbon Triumvirate goal or purpose? The Bourbon Triumvirate aimed to maintain white supremacy, promote economic growth in the Southern states, and establish strong Democratic political control after the Civil War.
What did the 13th amendments do? It abolished slavery.
What did the 14th amendments do? Granted citizenship to enslaved people.
What did the 15th amendments do? Gave African American the right to vote.
What did the presidential reconstruction plan require? allowed the South readmission into the Union if 10% of the population swore an oath of allegiance to the United States. They also were required to ratify/approve the 13th amendments.
What did the congressional reconstruction plan require? Southern states were required to pass the 14th amendment in order to be readmitted/allowed back into the Union.
What was the military reconstruction? Reconstruction plan where 5 districts were placed under the military.
Which of the following statements BEST compares the Freedmen’s Bureau and the Ku Klux Klan? Both the Freedmen’s Bureau and the Ku Klux Klan were created in response to changing social conditions.
Why was the Klu Klux Klan successful? Because the Socialist party gained control of Georgia politics in 1871 and kept it for over 100 years.
