The story of Noah and the ark is in- the book of Genesis in the Hebrew Bible.
Passover is a holiday that celebrates- the exodus from the Jewish people from Egypt.
The book of Daniel explains- why the Jews believed suffering would eventually be replaced by goodness.
During their long exile- Judaeans became known as Jews.
Passover- is celebrated with a Seder.
In order to be kosher- Jews are not allowed to eat pork and shellfish.
The first five books of the Torah- were written on scrolls.
Jewish priests and scribes- guided Jewish people after they returned from exile.
Why did religious leaders guide Jewish society after the Jews returned from exile? Because the Persians who ruled Judah did not allow the Jews to be government leaders, the Jewish people depended on religious leaders - the temple, priests and scribes - to guide them.
Why did religious teachers become important leaders in Jewish communities? Religious teachers became important leaders because of the Torah's great influence on daily life in Jewish communities.
Use the terms synagogue, Sabbath, and kosher to describe traditional Jewish practices? Jews worship in synagogue, or house of worship, on weekly religious holiday called the Sabbath. Many Jews eat foods that are kosher, prepared according to Jewish dietary laws.
What are the three parts of the Hebrew Bible? The Torah, the Prophets and the Writings are the three parts of the Hebrew Bible.
How did the people of Judah practice their religion while in exile? Small group of Jews met at synagogues to worship.
