English Colonization

TermDefinition
Colonization The process of settling in a new place and establishing control over it.
Jamestown The first permanent English settlement in America, founded in 1607.
Native Americans The original inhabitants of North America, including the Powhatan people in VA.
Pocahontas A Native American woman who played a significant role in the early relationship between the Powhatan people and English settlers.
English settlers The people from England who moved to live in the new lands when English established colonies in the Americas.
