It is a group of individuals sharing a common culture, geographical location, and government Society
What are the elements of society? social solidarity, shared identity and culture, a common language, a large population and the ability to sustain succeeding generations of members, definite geographical area, political economic and social organization
There are five major types of societies Hunting and Gathering, Horticultural and Pastoral Societies, Agricultural Societies, Industrial Societies, Post-Industrial Societies
What is a Hunting and Gathering Society? It is considered as the first society in which people hunt animals and gather food
What is a Horticultural and Pastoral Society? It is a gradual shift of lifestyle to a more sedentary life and introduction of agriculture
What is an Agricultural Society? It is characterized by new methods of farming, invention and advanced tools and permanent settlements
What is an Industrial Society? Technological advancements and rise of urban centers and cities
What is a Post-Industrial Society? It is where Knowledge is a commodity and technological innovation is key to long-lasting growth and development

What are the types of Norms and how many? There are 3, folkways, Mores, laws
What is the cultural component that are things that convey meaning or represent an idea? Symbols
What is the cultural component that are a set of symbols that enables members of society to communicate verbally (written, gestures) Language
What is the cultural component that are shared ideas, norms, & principles? Values
What is the cultural component that is the standards to pertain what is good or bad? Values
What is the cultural component where it is a set of shared rules of conduct that determine specific behavior among society members? Norms
What norm is that one that is violated but does not have serious consequences? Folkways
What norms have moral connotations? Mores
What norm is that one that is legally enacted and enforced Laws
It is a lifelong process of forging identity through social interaction Socialization
An individual learns or acquires important aspects of his/her society's culture Enculturation

It is the study of different cultures of different societies Anthropology
