What did opponents of the new deal do? They coined these jobs and work creation schemes "boondoggles" in the newspapers.
What did opps of new deal claim? Claimed that over 3 million of taxpayers money was wasted on pointless jobs that did not contribute to economic growth. (Over one billion was being spent on helping the poorest farmers)
