Latitude/longitude

TermDefinition
Lines of longitude Imaginary lines that show distances east or west of the prime meridian. They run North and South
Lines of latitude Imaginary lines that show distances north or south of the equator. They run east and west.
Prime meridian the line of longitude that runs from the north pole to the south pole through Greenwich, England.

equator the line of latitude that circles Earth halfway between the North and South Poles
