| Taxation | The practice of collecting money from people to fund government needs. |
| Protest | A way of showing disapproval or resistance to something. |
| Independence | The state of being free from control or rule by another country. |
| Rebellion | An act of resistance or defiance against authority or control. |
| Escape | To break free from captivity or control. |
| Defiance | Open resistance or bold disobedience. |
| Freedom | The state of being free, without being controlled or enslaved |
| Justified | To show that something is reasonable, fair, or right in a particular situation. |
| Patriots | For the Revolution; supported independence from Britain. |
| Loyalists | Against Revolution; remained faithful to British rule. |
