TermDefinition
Guillotine A machine that beheads people with a big blade that comes down.
Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen A document that is concerned about the government neglecting the National Assembly of France.
Estates-General A consultative assembly of the different french classes.
First Estate The people who ran the Catholic church and are called the clergy
Second Estate The nobility of France that had special privileges.
Third Estate everyone else, had no privileges and were very poor.
National Assembly A France assembly formed by the representatives of the Third Estate.
Tennis Court Oath The National Assembly swore not to stop meeting until France had a constitution
