popular sovereignty government based on consent of the people.
Declaration of Independence states the principles on which our government, and our identity as Americans, are based.
Democracy a form of government in which the people vote directly against or in favor of decisions, policies, laws, etc.
Stamp Act required the colonists to pay a tax, represented by a stamp, on various forms of papers, documents, and playing cards.
Intolerable Acts a series of four laws passed by the British Parliament to punish the colony of Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea Party.
Boston Tea Party It was a protest about the tax on tea, levied without representation in the British Parliament and against the monopoly of the East India Company
The Colonies insurrection carried out by 13 of Great Britain's North American colonies that began in 1775 and ended with a peace treaty in 1783.
